Frank J. DeRosa

Frank J. DeRosa is a partner in the New York office of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP concentrating on intellectual property law with an emphasis on patents. Mr. DeRosa counsels clients on effective strategies for protecting emerging and mature technologies by patent, copyright and trade secret law, while avoiding infringing upon intellectual property rights of third parties. He has assisted a number of Fortune 500 companies to implement patent programs, including mining the company’s technology to prime and sustain the program, as well as setting up infrastructure necessary to support the program. He routinely performs IP due diligence for clients making acquisitions or investments in technology companies, and advises clients on how to deal with patent portfolios of competitors and patent holding companies. Mr. DeRosa also prepares and prosecutes patent applications, and his practice also includes licensing, litigation, and trademark law. Mr. DeRosa has expertise in the technical areas of computers, software, Internet, electronics, and electro-mechanical devices. Before attending law school, he practiced as an electrical engineer for six years, and has first-hand experience working with scientists and engineers. Mr. DeRosa has extensive experience in patenting and counseling on business methods and software for financial services, insurance products, advertising, and the Internet. Frank DeRosa has been listed in the New York Super Lawyers 2007-2009, and in Chambers USA 2007 (as one of the leading intellectual property lawyers in New York).
