I graduated with high honors from Mercy College in 1985, and was inducted into the National Honor Society. I graduated from the Pace University School of Law with academic honors in 1990. • How did your upbringing lead you to become a lawyer? I can remember thinking about becoming a lawyer as early as the fifth grade. By the time I was in high school, I was working for a busy law firm helping any way that I could just to learn about the law and helping people. My love for practicing law only grew stronger as I attended college, and thus I attended law school as soon as I could save enough money to afford tuition. • What do you love about your job? I truly love my amazing co-workers and support staff. During my legal career, I have had the privilege of working in some of the most prestigious personal injury law firms in the world. I have learned personal injury law and practice from some of the most notable lawyers. Despite this background, I can honestly state that at Sobo & Sobo I have never been surrounded by a more talented, energetic, and compassionate group of lawyers and staff. I love sharing ideas with my fellow colleagues here, and I love that we are all united in one goal to help the injured. • Describe one of your accomplishments as a lawyer. So far in my legal career, I have been fortunate enough to be in a position to help a lot of really good people. I do not want to single out any one case or client. I am simply humbled by the fact that I have been in a position as a distinguished personal injury lawyer to resolve a broad spectrum of cases by achieving either a significant verdict or settlement. I know that my efforts in achieving a favorable settlement or verdict have significantly improved the lives of some of our clients, and that to me is the greatest accomplishment of all. • Why did you become a lawyer? It’s funny, but one of the primary reasons I became a lawyer is because I love teaching. As a litigation attorney, my role requires me to teach all the time. Whether it is explaining a complex law to a client, or arguing the facts before a judge or jury, the law allows me to find ways to be a creative teacher, which is a role I really enjoy. • Are you a member of any organizations or associations that you feel are important? If so, why? I am a member of the New York Trial Lawyers Association and do my best to help them support laws that protect our citizens from insurance companies and corporations. I am also a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Middletown Bar Association.
