Lisa C. Hladik

Lisa Hladik is an Associate in the O'Connell & Aronwitz Construction Law group, where she assists with the preparation and analysis of construction contracts and related legal documents. She also represents a wide range of construction industry clients in disputes and claims, including matters involving mediation, arbitration, and litigation. Her clients include owners, architects, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. In addition to her construction practice, Lisa is active in the firm’s Litigation Department. She represents clients in both civil and criminal matters at every stage of litigation, including pre-trial advocacy, motion practice, and trial. Drawing on her background in intellectual property and technical litigation, Lisa is skilled at handling complex disputes involving detailed factual records, expert testimony, and high-stakes commercial issues. Before joining the firm, Lisa served as an Assistant Public Defender in Warren County, where she represented clients charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses and served as lead counsel in multiple trials. In that role, she conducted voir dire, examined witnesses, and delivered opening and closing statements, gaining significant courtroom experience early in her career. She also previously worked at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in New York City as part of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation team, representing clients in patent and commercial disputes, including matters before the International Trade Commission. Lisa is a registered Patent Attorney and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, providing her with a technical perspective in matters involving engineering concepts, complex project documentation, and technology-driven issues. While in law school, she earned multiple moot court honors, served as Executive Editor of the Albany Law Review, graduated summa cum laude, and ranked in the top five of her class. Whether representing businesses, construction professionals, or individuals, Lisa brings strong advocacy, technical insight, and a strategic, solutions-focused approach to her work.
