About Mabel C. Bejar
Mabel's passion for immigration law dates back to law school, where she participated in pro bono immigration clinics and worked for a prominent immigration attorney in Los Angeles, California. After graduating, she practiced Employment Law and represented employees on issues including wage disputes, sexual harassment, discrimination in employment among others. Because of her language skills, her clients were mostly immigrants and often undocumented. After moving to New York City, her interest in immigration law was reignited and she worked for several non-profit organizations that offered legal services to immigrants. She has assisted hundreds of immigrants in realizing their dreams of becoming American citizens. Mabel was born in Peru and is a native Spanish speaker. I really enjoy dealing directly with clients and advocating for them while we navigate the immigration process. The system has become extremely complex in the last 20 years, with patchwork legislation that adds levels of complexity and confusion to an already difficult field of law. Being an immigrant, I am very familiar with the immigrant experience and the problems faced by the diverse immigrant community in the greater New York City area.
