About Stewart E. Wurtzel
STEWART E. WURTZEL, admitted to practice law in the State of New York, founded Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C. (then Deutsch Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C.) in 1992, alongside partners Jeremy Deutsch, David Tane and Marcie Waterman. Stewart was born in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School in 1983. Stewart has been practicing law for over forty years. Stewart is a seasoned litigator, who specializes in disputes involving condominium associations and cooperative corporations. Stewart has been consulted by and quoted in numerous publications including The New York Times, New York Post, Habitat Magazine, Cooperator News New York and Brick Underground on a variety of real estate related matters. He has also written for and been published in the New York Law Journal and the New York Real Estate Law Digest. He is on the advisory panel and writes regularly for the monthly Co-op & Condo Case Law Tracker, a monthly periodical summarizing relevant cases of importance to the co-op/condo community. Stewart is an adjunct associate professor at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business where he teaches the graduate level Introduction to Real Estate Law class.. Stewart is also chairman of the Board of the New York Law Institute, a nearly 20 year old venerable institution which is the oldest lending law library in New York State. Stewart is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association.
