Thomas P. Kerrigan

I have been practicing various aspects of real estate law for my entire fifty year career, and over the course of that time, I have handled just about every type of matter involving residential housing in New York City. After graduating law school, I worked for ten years in public interest law offices, which focused on housing law. During that time, I tried cases in state and federal court, worked on class-action lawsuits to protect tenant rights, prosecuted appeals and was involved in a number of high profile housing law cases. In 1986, I, co-founded the Finder Novick Kerrigan law firm and was an instrumental part of the firm’s growth and the establishment of its reputation as one of New York City’s premier residential real estate boutique firms. During my 35 plus years at Finder Novick Kerrigan I maintained a diverse practice involving trial and appellate work in the state and federal courts, along with a robust transactional practice, including purchases, sales and commercial leasing. I also serve as general counsel to dozens of cooperative and condominium boards and represent them in the a wide range of matters, including construction contracts, access agreements, employment issues, refinancings, corporate governance and litigation with sponsors, co-op and condo unit owners and neighboring properties. Along with my partners from the Finder Novick Kerrigan law firm, I joined Braverman Greenspun in 2023.
