Henry E. Teich

Hank has been in practice in Asheville with his law partner, Janson Grimes, for almost 40 years during which time his practice focused on Personal Injury Law. His primary focus now is Workers' Compensation Law and since 2000 he has been a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law. Hank's interest is making sure that his clients get the best medical treatment available under the circumstances and protecting them from oppressive insurance company tactics. He frequently represents workers whose injuries prevent them from returning to their previous jobs and who are in danger of not being able to work at all in the future. He is a Member of the Board of Governors and a benefactor of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Hank is also Membership Chair of the Executive Committee of the Workers Compensation Section of the NC Advocates for Justice. In 2007, 2010, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Hank received the Order of Service from the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, previously called The North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. The award is given to members for generous contributions of service in advancing the Academy's mission of protecting people's rights. Hank was selected for inclusion in the list of North Carolina Super Lawyers® in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019. Hank was included in the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 edition of Best Lawyers in America® for Workers Compensation Law-Claimants. Hank was an Assistant County Attorney for Buncombe County in 1980-81 and in 1987 he was appointed Public Guardian. He retired from that position in 2007 after 20 years of service to incompetent adults and mentally disabled Veterans in Buncombe County and across North Carolina. He is a former board member of Caring For Children and former advisory board member of the Asheville Lyric Opera. Hank is also a board member of the Mimosa Fishing Club and Marina at Lake James.
