Shannon Ashburn Tucker

Shannon Tucker has been practicing law in North Carolina since 1993. After graduating from UNC, where she majored in ancient and medieval history and minored in English literature, she attended UNC School of Law. She handled a combination of family law and criminal law cases prior to serving in the Office of the Public Defender in Durham County. She has an extensive amount of courtroom experience, appearing in both District and Superior Courts on a regular basis. Although she has obtained great verdicts for her clients at trial and has successfully argued cases in the NC Court of Appeals, and the North Carolina Supreme Court, she believes that her greatest skill is her empathy, and her ability to have compassion for and to bond with her clients in their time of need. Shannon believes strongly in giving back to her community and has served in the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties since 2002, serving as league President from 2011-2012. She has served on the Board of Communities In Schools of Durham, as Main Event Co-Chair of Band Together, and has volunteered with Caring House Gala and the Animal Protection Society of Durham for many years. In her free time Shannon loves reading, gardening, traveling, playing tennis with her husband and cheering for their daughter at her polo matches.
