Shelley W. Coleman

Shelley has practiced law for a total of 14 years and has served as Partner in our Charlotte office for five years. She also serves as the designated leader of the firm’s appellate advocacy practice group. Her practice focuses on appellate advocacy, civil litigation, and worker’s compensation. On average, clients call on Shelley’s expertise and guidance in more than 80 matters each year. She represents clients in worker’s compensation claims, including litigation of injury by accident cases, occupational disease claims, workplace assault claims, fraud claims, death claims, policy cancellation disputes, and coverage disputes. She has extensive appellate experience, handling appeals before the North Carolina Full Commission, North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court. She is an native Carolinian, active member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, Mecklenburg County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Shelley has been a frequent speaker at firm hosted seminars and is routinely requested as a speaker for industry events. Shelley’s expertise of working with others extends to serving as a board member with Kids Chance of North Carolina. This non-profit organization makes a significant difference in the lives of North Carolina families by providing scholarship support to aid eligible students to achieve their higher education goals. Shelley is happily married to Walt, a mother of three children, including twin boys and is an avid runner.
