William Grant Whittaker

Mr. Whittaker earned his undergraduate degree (B.A. 1979) from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his graduate degree (J.D. 1982) from The University of Tennessee and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1982. Mr. Whittaker began his practice of law in Matthews in 1988 with the firm and became a partner in the firm in 1998. Mr. Whittaker is licensed in North Carolina and his practice is focused primarily in the areas of domestic relations and family law. In 2003, Mr. Whittaker was presented with the Lawyer Referral Service Member of the Year Award for distinguished service by the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. Mr. Whittaker is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers and is a past chairman of the Public Information and Education Committee of the Mecklenburg County Bar. Mr. Whittaker has served as President of the Waxhaw-Weddington Rotary Club (2007-2008) and was Foundation Chair from 2010 through June 2015. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He served as President of that Board, the first to serve two consecutive terms in 2006-2008.. Mr. Whittaker is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Athletic Foundation of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mr. Whittaker was presented his high school's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2009.
