David L. Firestine

Dave serves as general outside counsel for privately held businesses. In that role, he interacts with business owners and c-suite executives daily, helping them to mitigate risk, capitalize on opportunities and navigate problems when they arise. Dave has significant experience advising clients on start-ups, mergers, acquisitions, transactions and strategic planning across a multitude of business sectors. Recognized for his candor, pragmatism and business acumen, Dave has served on the Board of Directors of both for-profit and non-profit organizations and has organized Advisory Boards for clients in multiple industries. In addition to his business practice, Dave represents clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions and disputes, including land use planning and zoning disputes. Dave also advises clients on general estate planning including wills, trusts and business succession planning. Since 2020, Dave has served as the Law Director for Copley Township and its 17,000+ residents. Dave is a graduate of Leadership Akron Class 24 and is a Fellow of the Akron Bar Foundation. He was selected as an "Ohio Super Lawyers" for 2022, ’23, ’24, '25 and '26 and an "Ohio Super Lawyers - Rising Star" for 2009, ‘10, ’11, ’12, ‘13 and ‘14 by Law & Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine/Cleveland Magazine in the practice areas of real estate and business/corporate.
