John R. Mohr

John is a business lawyer who graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Business Administration (Major Accounting) and a law degree from Moritz College of Law. Before forming Gottschlich & Portune, John served as in-house counsel for several entities, including: a real estate developer; a large financial institution engaged in the business of financing large commercial projects in numerous states; a publicly-traded multi-national corporation where he handled real estate matters and later served as a member of management as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary with responsibility for all legal issues including, real estate, corporate financial issues, employment, international, corporate compliance and franchising. John's primary practice includes real estate matters, corporate formation, business transactions, securities, private placements and franchising. His past experience working in-house provides a broad base of experience in real estate, corporate, franchising and general business transactions. He has extensive experience in ground leases, build-to-suit leases, leasing/subleasing and other real estate and title matters. More recently, he represented the City of Clayton, Ohio in the sale of real estate to Caterpillar for development of a $65 million facility. He has also been involved in the redevelopment of real estate. He is admitted to the Bar in Ohio and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
