Courtney Bru

Employers rely on Courtney Bru to provide effective representation on state and federal labor and employment law matters. She works with employers, HR personnel and managers to develop policies and practices designed to reduce risk, liability and protect against employment-related claims. A significant portion of her experience includes: · Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) · Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) · Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) · Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) · National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) · Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 · Wage and hour issues arising under various state laws · Discrimination and retaliation issues arising under various state laws In addition to her employment practice, she has consistently devoted a portion of her practice to commercial and civil litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Prior to joining Doerner, Courtney worked with Littler Mendelson, one of the world's largest labor and employment law firms. Raised in a small town in south Alabama, and having counseled clients both big and small, Courtney believes that legal advice is not a "one size fits all" proposition. She seeks to provide tailored and targeted advice to address an employer's legal needs in a manner consistent with its culture and goals.
