Carmen Nocera

Carmen J. Nocera is an associate attorney at Harry S. Cohen and Associates, where he focuses his practice on representing victims of medical malpractice. Mr. Nocera has spent his career representing injury victims in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters throughout the Commonwealth and takes great pride in obtaining justice for his clients. Mr. Nocera is a 2015 graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he received a degree in Safety Management and was a member of the university’s baseball team. Prior to law school, Mr. Nocera worked as an environmental health and safety consultant in the construction industry. Mr. Nocera earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2019. During law school, Mr. Nocera was an accomplished member of the Mock Trial Team, as well as Chair of the Moot Court Board. Since 2023, Carmen has been voted by his peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star, an honor reserved to the top 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania who are under the age of 40 or who have been practicing for less than 10 years. Mr. Nocera was also selected for membership to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40. In May of 2025, Mr. Nocera was co-counsel on a case that secured a $5.25 million verdict in Allegheny County in a case involving the wrongful death of a woman whose lung was perforated during a diagnostic bronchoscopy, a condition that went undiagnosed and untreated. Mr. Nocera is an active member of the Pittsburgh legal community. He is on the Board of Governors of both the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (WPTLA) and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ). In addition, Mr. Nocera coaches mock trial at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Mr. Nocera resides in the city of Pittsburgh and enjoys golfing, cooking, and spending time with his dog, Oliver.
