David R. Sligh

David practices in the areas of civil litigation, family law, wills, and probate matters. Prior to joining his wife Kathryn in the formation of Sligh Law Firm, P.A., David was a litigator for 12 years at a large South Carolina firm where he was a shareholder and focused on a variety of civil litigation and insurance matters. He has served as lead counsel in hundreds of litigated cases in a variety of subject areas including construction, personal injury, insurance, contracts, and real property. He has tried more than 25 cases to verdict in bench and jury trials in the state and federal court. He is admitted to practice in state courts in South Carolina as well as the United States District Court. David was raised in North Augusta, South Carolina. He attended Furman University where he majored in business administration and played on Furman’s NCAA golf team. He attended law school at the University of South Carolina where he graduated in 2008. Following law school, David followed Kathryn back to Horry County. They reside in downtown Conway with their 3 children: Burch (7), John (5), and Will (2). David serves on the City of Conway Planning Commission. He and his family attend Union United Methodist Church where he has served as a frequent participant and performer in the Alive! family ministry. David enjoys spending time on the rivers around Conway with his family, the outdoors, and sports of all kinds.
