J. Rutledge Young Jr.

J. Rutledge Young, Jr. focuses his practice on health care, professional liability, and complex business issues. He is chair of Young Clement Rivers, LLP's Health Care and Special Task Litigation Practice Groups and is a former managing partner of the firm. He holds the highest professional AV Preeminent rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and has been listed for more than 25 years in the Best Lawyers in America and for more than 10 in years in Chambers USA America's Leading Business Lawyers. He was also selected as a Best Lawyer in America for Bet-the-Company Litigation for 2007, 2008, and 2009. A former president of Historic Charleston Foundation, he has been active in preservation and conservation organizations. J. Rutledge Young, Jr. has served on the Charleston City Council and the South Carolina Supreme Court's Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is active in the South Carolina Bar and served as president in 1994-1995.
