Ryan Kolbeck

Ryan Kolbeck was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 2002 and his Juris Doctor in 2005 at the University of South Dakota. Ryan is a 2009 graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, considered the most prestigious and selective trial advocacy college in the United States. He was named South Dakota Young Lawyer of the Year in 2010. In 2009, Ryan was elected by his peers to the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Board of Governors. He is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota (since 2005), Second Judicial Circuit, American Bar Association, South Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association (President, 2009-2012), and Board of Governors Young Lawyers Association (2010-2012). Ryan is also the treasurer of the Constitutional Amendment for the legalization of marijuana in South Dakota. This is a ballot question committee with a focus on legalization with certain restrictions.
