Jeff Cherry

Mr. Cherry is a 1990 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Mr. Cherry then became a member of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department where he spent nine years serving the citizens of Davidson County. Mr. Cherry served as a patrolman in the public housing district where he learned to work with the residents to produce a safer living environment. He worked as a Crime Suppression Officer, often assigned to investigate illegal narcotics, gambling and prostitution. Mr. Cherry continued his service as the community liaison between the police department and the one hundred plus neighborhood watch programs; culminating in the development of the Neighborhood Crime and Safety Council which continues to serve the citizens of Nashville. He was then assigned as the Instructor of Law at the Metro Nashville Training Academy where he led recruit officers through a challenging 116 hours of criminal law instruction. Mr. Cherry is a P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Commission certified trainer. Mr. Cherry is an adjunct faculty member of the Police Science Section of Nashville State Technical School. Mr. Cherry graduated from the Nashville School of Law after earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence. He served an internship with the Nashville Davidson County District Attorney's Office before becoming an associate of Lowery & Lowery, P.L.L.C. Mr. Cherry has been admitted to practice law in all Tennessee State Courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He practices in the area of state and federal criminal defense, personal injury, worker's compensation and estate probation. Mr. Cherry continues to handle all forms of criminal cases including the defense of criminal seizure and forfeiture cases, probation and parole violations as well as criminal appellate work.
