Joseph W. Ballard

Joseph W. Ballard is a senior associate in the Knoxville office, concentrating primarily in product liability, general commercial, and tort litigation defense. Mr. Ballard has served as lead defense counsel in several jury and bench trials throughout state courts in eastern Tennessee. Additionally, he has drafted pleadings and successfully argued motions on behalf of individuals and corporations in numerous state and federal courts. Currently, Mr. Ballard's practice focuses primarily in the defense of personal injury claims, product liability claims, and class action matters. A smaller component of Mr. Ballard's practice includes drafting and revising corporate documents and forming non-profit corporations. Mr. Ballard is a member of the American, Tennessee and Knoxville Bar Associations. Mr. Ballard serves on the Advisory Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Tennessee Valley, is league director for the local chapter of Upward Basketball and Cheerleading, and is the mock trial coach for Carter High School. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), where he was formerly on the Young Lawyers Steering Committee and chaired the Legislative Liaison Subcommittee.
