Mary Sullivan Moore

As a Chattanooga criminal defense attorney and juvenile lawyer, Mary Sullivan Moore has been a licensed attorney in the State of Tennessee since 1994. She received her law degree from The University of Mississippi School of Law in 1994 and received her LLM or Masters of Law from Tulane University Law School, New Orleans in 1995. Mary Sullivan is a Chattanooga native. During her practice, Mary Sullivan spent several years practicing civil law with the Law Firms of Brewer Krause and the Luther-Anderson. In 2000, she was hired by the District Attorney General’s office, as an Assistant District Attorney where she prosecuted every type of crime from simple misdemeanors to Murder, Rape and Robbery. She has taught law classes as an Adjunct Professor for University of Tennessee of Chattanooga (UTC). As a former Hamilton County Prosecutor, Mary Sullivan served in the Hamilton County Criminal and General Sessions Courts as a trial lawyer. Throughout her career as a prosecutor, Mary Sullivan handled and tried numerous felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile matters. As an experienced trial lawyer, she has tried hundreds of civil and criminal trials with an outstanding success rate. With her vast trial experience, Mary Sullivan is able to defend the most serious cases, having worked both sides of these cases. As a special child abuse prosecutor, Mary Sullivan has had multiple opportunities to guest speak on the topic of child abuse for University of Tennessee of Chattanooga (UTC), T.C. Thompson’s Children’s Hospital, The Chattanooga Kids on the Block (KOB) and the Children’s Advocacy Center. Mary Sullivan has served her community as a volunteer and serves on many Boards for non-profit organizations and others. She has been a long standing member of the Chattanooga Bar Association, SETLAW – Southeast Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women, where she has served as President, Vice-President and Secretary. She served several years on the Northside Learning Center Board of Directors and served as President. She has been on the Board of Directors for the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute. She served as a Kiwanian of Chattanooga for several years and serves on the Advisory Board of the Chattanooga Kids on the Block. She is an active supporter and volunteer for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Chattanooga as well.
