Christopher D. Cavazos

Christopher D. Cavazos represents individuals facing criminal charges across San Antonio and the surrounding counties. With more than 15 years of experience and thousands of cases handled, he defends clients in matters involving DWI, assaults, drug offenses, juvenile cases, and protective orders. His approach is practical, trial-focused, and grounded in a clear understanding of what is at stake for his clients. Before entering private practice, Christopher served as a state prosecutor in Atascosa County and was appointed as a special prosecutor in Wilson and Frio Counties. That experience gives him valuable insight into how criminal cases are charged and prosecuted. After completing his service with the county attorney’s office, he co-founded Barrera, Cavazos & Powers with Stephen C. Barrera and Brian T. Powers, combining 40 years of experience to defend those accused of crimes. Christopher earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. He has been recognized by San Antonio Scene as a Top Criminal Defense Lawyer.
