Christopher R. Cowan

A recent addition to Beck Redden, Chris Cowan spent the last five years at a large Los Angeles based firm defending companies and individuals in complex civil litigations and appeals involving claims of securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and misappropriation of trade secrets, to name a few. He also has extensive experience in guiding clients through the related government investigations and prosecutions that often run tandem to such civil suits. Whether the matter is the most complex of federal class actions or a simple contract dispute, Chris's greatest strength is his ability to cut through the unnecessary noise and gamesmanship involved in most lawsuits - allowing him to efficiently and persuasively present his client's story to the court. Chris is also dedicated to pro bono work. Prior to leaving Los Angeles, Chris was an associate board member of Public Counsel (California's largest pro bono firm) and intends to continue to contribute his time and energy to issues and causes important to him in his new home of Austin.
