About E. Michelle Bohreer
There isn’t much of anything I’d rather be doing than picking a jury or delivering an opening statement. I have represented clients in numerous jury and non-jury trials, which have involved a wide variety of legal issues, including self-insured workplace injury defense, discrimination, whistleblower, retaliatory discharge, securities fraud, usury, non-compete agreements, mineral lease enforcement, contract disputes, business fraud, and tortious interference, just to name a few. Responsive, Zealous Advocacy, & Resourceful As a trial lawyer, I routinely see what can go wrong with a client’s business, and for this reason I am uniquely positioned to help clients prevent business and employment disputes by anticipating them and by being proactive. As a certified public accountant who at one time practiced public accounting for a Big Eight accounting firm, I also understand the practical and financial aspects of disputes. In my practice, I assist clients with hiring and termination matters, developing and implementing appropriate employment policies and procedures, and responding to EEOC charges and Department of Labor or Texas Workforce Commission wage audits. I also offer training programs designed to assist my clients in meeting the ongoing challenges associated with federal and state employment laws, which continue to present a moving target. I frequently provide advice to client entities who are in the process of restructuring their business, and I have conducted due diligence investigations in connection with a nationwide roll-up of staffing companies, as well as strategic mergers and initial public offerings of staff leasing and PEO companies. Each year since 2004, Michelle has been recognized by her peers as a “Texas Super Lawyer” in Law and Politics Magazine and Texas Monthly. She has also received the top rating from the preeminent attorney rating service of Martindale-Hubbell, identifying her with the highest ethical standards and professional ability. Philanthropy For many years, I have been actively involved with Rotary, serving as President of the largest Rotary club in our area (2008-2010) and serving as an Assistant District Governor for 2 years (2010-2012). I was named Rotarian of the year in 2013. In 2006, I was the chairman, in fact, the first woman chairman, of the 37th Annual Rotary Lombardi Award, which honors the outstanding college lineman of the year, while raising significant monies for cancer research. I am excited to be a member of the Rotary Club of Houston Skyline, with a commitment to bringing Rotary’s presence and preeminence back into downtown Houston. In 2021-2022, I will have the privilege of serving as District Governor for Rotary International District 5890. I also serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of National Senior Campuses, Inc., which has Continuing Care Retirement Communities across the country and leads the industry by providing an exceptional lifestyle for more than 25,000 active seniors.
