Jennifer Barnett

Dallas Tx Divorce and Family Law Attorney Jennifer Barnett was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She attended The University of Texas at El Paso and received a B.S. in Biology with University Honors and was also named the Top 10 Senior in her graduating class. While in college, Ms. Barnett did extensive DNA and immunological research as part of numerous research grants. She regularly used current techniques of DNA amplification, such as the Polymerase Chain Reaction, which is widely seen in criminal forensic analyses and in paternity determinations today. Ms. Barnett has a broad scientific knowledge that is helpful in dealing with expert witnesses in family law trial settings. She then continued her education, graduating from The University of Houston School of Law in 2001. Jennifer Barnett is experienced and equipped to handle cases with multiple crossovers between criminal, family, and juvenile law. She started out her career as a Collin County Assistant District Attorney, prosecuting criminal cases, before moving into civil practice in a downtown Dallas law firm, primarily representing city governments. In these two positions, she tried more than 100 cases before juries. She then practiced at a firm that primarily handled child protective services (CPS) cases before opening her own Family Law practice.
