John W. Stevenson Jr.

John is a native Texan. He was born in Fort Worth in 1957 and later moved to Nacogdoches. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. At Trinity, John was president of the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity and a member of Alpha Chi and Triniteers Fraternities. He earned his J.D. Degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1982, where he won championships in Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions and was selected to the prestigious Order of the Barristers. After graduation, John joined Ross, Griggs & Harrison, a 20-person insurance defense firm in Houston. He held the distinction of being the only first year lawyer solely responsible for his own docket. In less than a year, John had actively participated in numerous cases, many involving multiple wrongful deaths and multi-million dollar damage claims. As an associate attorney, John gained extensive trial experience, trying more cases than any other attorney at the firm while there. In 1987, John founded his own firm to champion the rights of injured individuals. The same year he was awarded the highest rating of "AV" by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Since then, John has remained focused on plaintiffs' personal injury litigation, working tirelessly to obtain the best possible outcome for his clients. In his distinguished career, John has handled many notable cases, with impressive results. John is a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates. John is admitted to the State Bar of Texas and to practice before the U.S. District Court in the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. John and his wife, Robyn, have three children. John’s dedication to helping those in need reaches beyond his practice of law. John and his firm are generous contributors to many community organizations. His generosity and support have been acknowledged both publicly and privately.
