Kacey Simmons

Kacey Simmons is an associate attorney at Barbieri Law Firm, where she practices exclusively in criminal defense. She brings nearly a decade of advocacy and mock-trial experience to her work, with a background rooted in trial strategy and courtroom preparation. Kacey earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2025, where she distinguished herself as one of the school’s top advocates. She helped lead Texas Law to multiple national championship titles, including first-place finishes at the Georgetown White Collar Crime Invitational and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Civil Rights Trial Competition. She was awarded the Niemann Cup for best overall advocate in her graduating class and inducted into the Order of Barristers. Before law school, Kacey graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University, where she served as president of the university’s mock-trial program. During law school, she served as Mock Trial Director on the Board of Advocates and represented clients through the Disability Rights Clinic. Kacey has professional experience with the Collin County and Dallas County District Attorney’s Offices and previously served as a law clerk at Barbieri Law Firm. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
