Katelin Gines

Katelin attended Utah State University, where she studied history and political science with the goal of pursuing a law degree. She used her political science minor to focus on constitutional application and legal theory, which solidified her decision to dedicate her career to the law. Katelin attended Drake University Law School as a first-generation law student, gradating summa cum laude. She was extremely passionate about advocating for others throughout law school. Notably, Katelin served as the president of Drake Law Women, helping grow the organization’s philanthropic endeavors and outreach into the wider community to help fellow law students when unexpected expenses arose. Katelin was also a Junior Editor on the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law and served on the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law Editorial Board as the Projects Editor. During law school, Katelin focused her studies on litigation and how to vigorously advocate for clients. She honed her litigation skills through various clinics where she represented clients charged with misdemeanors. Through her dedication and uncommon ability to understand her clients, Katelin was able to successfully challenge multiple charges, resulting in dismissals. Katelin clerked for a civil litigation law firm and participated in multiple jury trials, getting favorable verdicts for her clients. After graduating, Katelin continued to pursue her passion for litigation. She focused on personal injury and employment discrimination, fighting for those who suffered severe injustice. While advocating for her clients, Katelin found her passion for catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and product defect cases. Katelin was delighted to join Arnold & Itkin to continue fighting for others at a top plaintiffs’ personal injury trial law firm. When she is not working, Katelin enjoys plays, musicals, concerts, or taking her paddleboard out for a day on the lake.
