Matthew has over 25 years of experience with patent procurement in various technology areas, including electrical, mechanical, medical devices, semiconductors, computer hardware/software, financial services, cloud/app security and services, networking, telecommunications, wireless communications, automotive, electric vehicles, autonomous vehicle control, vehicle/online auctions, 3D printing, aerospace, aviation, solar panel systems, fiber optics, LEDs, optical displays, visor technologies, heads-up displays, imaging optics, medical imaging, biomechanical, prosthetics, exoskeletons/exosuits, biomechanical, contact lenses, insulated packaging and prediction systems, firearms, energy, musical instruments, sports equipment, fitness systems, maglev transportation, superconductors, and sensors. Prior to joining Fogarty LLP, Matthew served as a patent agent in intellectual property departments of several large general practice law firms, as a director of intellectual property for a global technology company, and as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office where he analyzed hundreds of patent applications to determine the utility, novelty, and patentability of inventions in the areas of high definition television, flat panel displays, CRTs, visual displays, illumination, and discharge devices.
