Michelle Farris

Michelle primarily practices in the areas of civil insurance defense and personal injury law. She also has experience in municipal law, general civil litigation, probate, and estate planning. Michelle graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in May of 2024, and received her Texas law license in October of that same year. Prior to attending law school, Michelle worked as a paralegal for two years in Austin, Texas. Michelle received her undergraduate degree in Legal Studies from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where she earned a 4.0 in all classes completed there, while raising her children as a single mother. Before her final semester of undergrad, Michelle married her wonderful husband Matthew, who then supported her through her dream of becoming an attorney. Born in Connecticut but moving around frequently as a part of a military family, Michelle did not have “roots” anywhere while growing up. In December of 2018, after graduating from ECU, Michelle and her children moved to Wimberley, Texas to be with her husband. Finally having a sense of “home,” local community became important to her. While in law school Michelle completed over 100 hours of community service, (including pro-bono legal work) in San Antonio, Austin, and Wimberley, served in the law school’s pro-bono real estate clinic, and also volunteering in the church nursery and with the her church’s youth ministry. Michelle regularly volunteers with the Barnabas Connection in Wimberley, Texas, pro-bono legal clinics in San Antonio and Austin, and is an active member of her church. Michelle is driven by a sense of fairness, justice, and service to others as she lives out her Christian faith in all she does and brings these convictions to her law practice with compassion and empathy for her clients. When Michelle is not advocating for her clients, shuffling children to and from extra-curricular activities, or the myriads of other things a mom and wife needs to handle, Michelle enjoys watching movies with her husband, playing Dungeons and Dragons with her family, engaging in movie and music trivia, and on rare occasions, taking a much deserved Saturday afternoon nap. Fun fact: While in law school Michelle attended an Animal Law course, in which she was required to suggest legislation relating to animals. Michelle’s suggested legislation was presented to an animal-rights group, and part of Michelle’s suggested legislation made it to the floor of the Texas House in the form of HB3049, which added animal control officers to the list of designated first responders. HB3049 went into effect in September, 2025.
