Philip Eichorn

Focus: I built this Firm in 2008 to provide clients with quality and diligent representation in a collaborative environment fighting against removal, seeking family unity, pursuing citizenship, or effectively running their businesses in compliance with U.S. immigration law. Clients are the foundation of any law practice, and our focus is dedicated to serving client needs by providing creative solutions to complex immigration-related legal issues. A successful attorney-client relationship can only develop when all involved understand the client's goals and concerns as well as the current state of the law. My role as the attorney is to provide clients with the information necessary for them to make informed decisions and then to relentlessly represent their interests accordingly. Our Firm also values maintaining open lines of communication so that all parties to the representation are on the same page at all times. We want clients who are “active in their case.” We want clients who want to work with us in achieving their goals. Therefore, it is imperative that our clients know the status of their cases at all times and that we have the most up-to-date information about our clients. We provide all our clients with an account for a secure website that facilitates communication with our staff at any time and provides instant progress reports. Our focus on client collaboration, communication, and information guides our Firm as we work with our clients to achieve their goals. Philosophy: America is a nation of immigrants. Throughout our history, immigrants and refugees from all corners of the world have come to the United States, determined to improve their lives through hard work. In the process, immigrants have made this country a strong and great nation. Immigrants are the foundation of our way of life. We must continue to attract the best and brightest from across the globe for our nation to flourish both economically and culturally. Approach: My approach to representing clients is grounded in my experience as an adjunct professor, immigration practitioner and former county prosecutor. My experience teaching law students and seasoned practitioners alike about the immigration laws has driven me to constantly obtain and use cutting edge information, theories and practices. It has also taught me the importance of collaboration and educating my clients about the immigration process and their rights under the law. I began my legal career prosecuting criminal cases at the state level in Medina, Ohio. These cases included felonies and misdemeanors including drug trafficking, drug possession, DUI's, domestic violence, theft, robbery, and other criminal matters. Through this experience I gained valuable knowledge and experience. As well, I built my skill set as a strategist and trial attorney and learned to think like the government. Understanding the opposing side, staying informed regarding the newest developments in immigration law, and educating clients about the process allows us to collaborate and timely address any issues that may arise and form appropriate responses. Present Professional Associations: I am an active member of the Ohio Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and currently serve as the Chairperson of the Ohio Chapter. As part of this position, I have regular contact with the Cleveland Immigration Court, the Cleveland USCIS Field Office, the local branch of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the local branch of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). In doing so, our Firm receives cutting edge information on happenings with these entities and is able to shape local policy. I believe that service to the legal profession through advocacy and leadership within the immigration legal community is important for the furtherance of immigration policy.
