Sean Guerrero

Sean is a litigation shareholder. He grew up in San Antonio and attended the University of Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1996. He received his law degree from Texas Tech in 2001, where he was inducted into the Order of Barristers. As an oil and gas litigation attorney in Midland since 2002, Sean has developed a strong track record as lead counsel in complex oil and gas and corporate litigation, mediation, and trials. In recent years, Sean has focused primarily on mineral interest and royalty ownership disputes at the trial court and appellate levels. He has significant experience as lead appellate counsel at and the 8th and 11th Courts of Appeal and the Texas Supreme Court, where he successfully argued as lead appellate counsel in a seminal case concerning mineral interest ownership and constitutional rights issues, Mitchell. v. Map Resources, Inc., 649 S.W.3d 180 (Tex. 2022). More recently, Sean was again the prevailing lead counsel before the Texas Supreme Court in a mineral interest ownership dispute, Gill, et al. v. Hill d/b/a DOH Oil Company, 688 S.W.3d 863 (Tex. 2024). Sean was selected to the roster of 2026 Texas Super Lawyers in Appellate Law.
