Richard J. Tanner

Richard Tanner has practiced law with Tanner Law Office PLLC since his license to practice in Utah in 2006. He has routinely advised and represented clients from Tooele County, Salt Lake City, and surrounding counties, including Davis and Utah County, in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony and property settlement issues, adoption, and guardianship. He routinely, almost daily, makes appearances in the Tooele Third District Court, located within blocks from our office. For several years, Tanner Law Office PLLC has provided public defender legal representation for court appointed clients in the Tooele Justice Court. James and Richard Tanner have made numerous appearances on traffic tickets, DUI, drug-related cases, violation of city or county ordinances, and other misdemeanor charges. He has represented clients on criminal charges in the Third District Court. They have routinely represented juvenile clients and in some cases, parents of juveniles, in the Third District Juvenile Court, on juvenile offenses, parental rights issues, and DFS matters. Richard currently represents individuals on criminal charges, based on public defender appointments in the Stockton Municipal Court. Richard has represented a number of tenants and landlords in landlord tenant disputes in Tooele County. He has reviewed, advised on, and drafted numerous documents, including contracts, leases, general and special powers of attorney, durable powers of attorney, wills, living wills, medical directives, and other documents related to estate planning. Tanner Law Office PLLC is a provider for the Hyatt Legal Plan and Richard has drafted numerous documents and advised on numerous civil matters as a part of this plan.
