About Lee Adair Floyd

Lee A. Floyd is an associate in the Firm's Industrial, Environmental and Complex Litigation Practice Group in Charleston, West Virginia. She represents clients in a wide range of issues with a focus on environmental, class action and workplace injury litigation. She also counsels clients on the development of coal, coalbed methane, and oil and gas. In this capacity, Ms. Floyd has represented clients in state and federal court in West Virginia and Virginia. She is currently President of the Young Lawyers Division of the West Virginia Bar Association. Ms. Floyd earned her law degree from West Virginia University College of Law where she was the Editor‑in‑Chief of the West Virginia Law Review. While in law school, she was a governing council member of the West Virginia Law Institute and recipient of the Chesapeake Energy Fellowship. In 2011, Ms. Floyd was named the Outstanding Woman in the Law by the West Virginia University College of Law. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Floyd worked as a program associate at the Alliance for Health Reform in Washington, DC, an organization founded and chaired by Senators Jay Rockefeller and Bill Frist. At the Alliance for Health Reform, Ms. Floyd worked to provide information about health care proposals to members of Congress, policy analysts and journalists. She also interned for Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, in Congresswoman Maloney's Capitol Hill office. Ms. Floyd earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 2006, where she double majored in history and government. Ms. Floyd was a violinist in the University of Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
