Bruce E. Black Ph.D.

Bruce E. Black specializes in domestic and international patent procurement, client counseling, licensing and due diligence for innovations in the areas of chemistry, physics, materials science, biotechnology and mechanical arts. Dr. Black has served a variety of clients ranging from multinational corporations to small start-up companies and individual inventors. With a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Dr. Black combines a strong scientific background and legal training to assist clients in obtaining and making use of their intellectual property rights. He has particular experience in patent preparation, prosecution and counseling in the fields of optics, semiconductors, superconductors, lasers, solid state physics, RF and radar electronics, television/display technologies, medical devices, electrochemical and optical sensors, organic and organometallic chemistry, polymers and DNA assays. Previously, Dr. Black was a member of the legal affairs department at 3M Company where he supported 3M's optical and display business units. He counseled his clients on all aspects of intellectual property including litigation, licensing and other agreements, intellectual property development, patent procurement and portfolio management and confidential information exchange.
