David Scopp

David W. Scopp earned his B.A. in economics from Middlebury College and earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law Review, authored a law review comment, was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society, and earned five CALI Awards for Excellence (highest grade in class). From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Scopp practiced at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where he handled a variety of civil litigation matters and earned pro bono awards every year. From 2008 to 2010, he practiced at a trusts and estates firm in Monterey. From 2010 to 2011, Mr. Scopp worked as a Research Attorney for the Monterey County Superior Court, where he gained insight into civil procedure and the art of persuasion by drafting decisions and memoranda for judges. Finally, Mr. Scopp served as a Professor of Legal Writing II at the Monterey College of Law. Mr. Scopp founded the Law Office of David W. Scopp in December 2010. His practice includes appellate work, law and motion, and trusts and estates law. While less than ten percent of all the criminal convictions appealed to the Court of Appeal are reversed, Mr. Scopp has obtained a reversal for over fifty percent of my clients. While not practicing law, Mr. Scopp spends time with family and friends experiencing the beauty that the Monterey Peninsula offers through surfing and hiking.
