Suhasini S Sawkar

Suhasini S. Sawkar ("Sue") received her BA degree in economics with a minor in statistics from Elphinstone College, and a Diploma in Business Administration from J. Bajaj Institute of Management Studies LL.B. (bachelor of laws) from the University of Bombay. Ms. Sawkar received her law degree from the University of La Verne College of Law. She joined Herzfeld & Rubin LLP in 1993. Ms. Sawkar is a high powered litigator, who has extensive knowledge and experience in defending physicians and surgeons, medical clinics/groups and hospitals in medical malpractice cases. Ms. Sawkar has demonstrated exceptional legal expertise in law and motion matters. Prior to joining H&R she worked as a Research Attorney for the Los Angeles Superior Court, where she was responsible for "working up" the court's law and motion calendar. Since the enactment of the elder abuse statutes, Ms. Sawkar has developed another focus to her professional liability practice and has aggressively defended physicians against elder abuse claims, which has earned her high marks from clients and adversaries alike. Ms. Sawkar is a member of the American Society of Health Risk Managers and the Southern California Association of Health Risk Managers of which she is a member of its Education Committee. Ms. Sawkar is fluent in Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi.
