Nancy H. Zhao

Nancy H. Zhao is an associate in the firm's Maui office and a member of its Corporate & Business; Real Estate, Land Use & Hospitality; and Renewable Energy & Clean Technology practice groups. Her legal experience has included business transactions, real estate acquisitions and development, licensing work with biopharmaceutical companies, public and private security offerings, and corporate transactions, including corporate governance and finance. Prior to joining Carlsmith Ball, Ms. Zhao served as Legal Counsel for EDF Renewable Energy, Inc. in San Diego, where she represented EDF in mergers and acquisitions of wind and solar energy projects in North America. Prior to law school, Ms. Zhao was a bank loans closer at Anchorage Capital Group, LLC, in New York City. Ms. Zhao received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School where she was an Associate Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race & Law. She also served as an Advanced Student Attorney in the University of Michigan International Transactions Clinic, where she performed legal analysis for non-profit organizations with impact investment operations in Asia, Latin America and Africa. Ms. Zhao served as board member and Vice President of the University of Michigan Law School Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
