Thomas Bennett Clark

I have practiced law in Lexington, Kentucky for more than 45 years. I began practicing with Stoll, Keenon & Park in 1965 and retired from that firm in 2002. During my years at Stoll, Keenon & Park, my primary areas of practice were workers compensation and employment and labor law. Soon after my retirement, I returned to the practice of law, but in the setting of a much smaller firm, Clark Law Office, founded by my son Edwin in 2003. I attended college on a U.S. Navy R.O.T.C. full scholarship. After graduating from college, I joined the U.S.S. Maddox, a destroyer attached to the Pacific fleet. I became the engineer officer of the Maddox in 1960, and remained in that post until my term of active duty had been completed. My oldest son, Tom, is a senior Captain in the medical branch of U.S. Army. He has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I am active in the Methodist Church and supportive of several different charities here in central Kentucky. As the result of my military training and almost half-century of law practice, I have learned a good bit about the law but even more about people. At heart the duty of the lawyer is to guide a client through the complexities of the law as it affects the client’s life. When I began practicing law and to this very day, I have always focused on achieving an outcome that is in the best interest of my client and that fulfills my ethical obligations as an attorney.
