Allen C. Brotherton

I am, quite simply, a trial lawyer. I have 26 years of experience trying a wide range of courtroom matters with an emphasis on defending people charged with crimes. I have successfully handled virtually every type of criminal charge: everything from traffic tickets and DWI charges, through larceny, drug conspiracy and money laundering charges all the way up to first-degree murder. I am in court literally every day and have a knack for maintaining an excellent working relationship with the prosecutors, judges, police officers and clerks of Mecklenburg County as well as surrounding counties and the federal courts while vigorously defending my clients. In addition, I have successfully handled civil matters in a wide array of areas, including personal injury, environmental contamination, breach of contract, damage to property, unjust enrichment and real estate matters. I also have extensive experience in handling appeals in all appellate courts. I was born and raised in the greater Charlotte area and my distinguished undergraduate and law school career at UNC included induction into the Phi Eta Sigma honor society and being awarded the prestigious Morehead Scholarship. I am active in the church community and love spending time with my wife Lynn and sons, Haynes and Gray.
