Joshua D. Payne

Josh Payne earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, graduating cum laude with honors in his concentration of Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. During law school, he sharpened his trial and oral advocacy skills as a member of the Jonathan M. Ault Mock Trial Team. He was also named to the Order of the Barristers, a highly selective honor society that recognizes the top advocates from law schools around the country who have demonstrated exceptional skill in trial and oral advocacy. Josh’s legal journey began at Nurenberg Paris back in 2016 while he was pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the College of Wooster. His early experience at the firm confirmed his passion for litigation, prompting him to return as a law clerk during his third year of law school and to eventually join the team as an associate in 2021. Known for his unwavering dedication and meticulous attention to detail, Josh is passionate about securing the best outcomes for his clients. His diligent approach has led to significant recoveries in multiple wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases, resulting in millions of dollars for clients. In 2022, Josh took a significant step to deepen his understanding of trucking litigation by obtaining his Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This firsthand experience gives him a unique perspective on the challenges drivers face, the intricacies of industry regulations, and the legal standards governing commercial transportation. Further exemplifying his commitment to professional growth, Josh secured his Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) 30-Hour Certification, showcasing his unyielding determination to comprehensively serve his clients’ interests. When not working, Josh enjoys going to Guardians games, car shows, and spending time outdoors—hiking, white water kayaking, and camping with his wife, son, and dog, Monty.
