
About Maryam Elsayed
Maryam is a managing partner at Elsayed Law PLLC and an experienced attorney who represents clients exclusively in family matters throughout Northern Virginia. Her experience includes representing clients in both uncontested and contested divorce, drafting prenuptial agreements, negotiating and drafting separation agreements, child custody, child support, modification of custody and support, and division of marital assets. A Virginia native, Maryam Elsayed graduated from George Mason University, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice. She then went on to attend George Mason University School of Law and graduated magna cum laude. During law school, she was one of five students to represent the school in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition, participated in the Moot Court Board and the Trial Advocacy Association, and taught Legal Writing as a Writing Fellow. She also served as the Director of the Pro Bono Law Association, winning an award for her service in 2012. Maryam is fluent in Arabic reading, writing and conversation and is a beginner in conversational Turkish, which she enjoys learning in her free time. After graduating from law school, Maryam served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Craig D. Johnston (Ret.) in the Prince William County Circuit Court, where she was exposed to a wide variety of matters before the court and gained experience in briefing and preparing opinions with the judge in various family cases. In 2014, she joined a local law firm that is dedicated to family law and worked with partners and associates on many domestic relations matters. In 2016, Maryam launced Elsayed Law, PLLC. as a solo practitioner until she was recently joined by her brother and law partner, Muhammad Elsayed.
