Born in Washington D.C. and raised in northern Virginia. Graduate of the University f Virginia and the George Washington University School of Law. Engaged in the practice of law in Woodbridge since 1977, first as a solo practitioner and then as a member of Peterson & Pesner, P.C., Merchak & Brice P.C., Merchak, Alston & Rollison, P.C., and currently with Ryland & Merchak, P.C. since 1992. Focused primarily on family law but experienced in real estate law and litigation. Member of the Virginia State Bar, Eastern District of Virginia Bar, Prince William County Bar Association, and Virginia Women Attorney's Association. Past board member of the Prince William County Boys & Girls Club and Lake Ridge Youth Lacrosse Association.
