Matthew A. Bisbee

Matthew Bisbee specializes in civil litigation. He represents health care providers, governmental entities, homeowners, and businesses against allegations of medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, elder abuse, premises liability, products liability, breach of contract, and civil rights violations. Mr. Bisbee has tried seven cases to verdict, including five jury trials and two bench trials, in San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Contra Costa County, and Santa Cruz County. He was first chair in four trials and second chair in three trials. In state and federal court, Mr. Bisbee has prevailed on motions for summary judgment. Mr. Bisbee received his bachelor's degree in history from Georgetown University (with honors) in 1991. He earned his J.D. from the University of The Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1995. During 1995 and 1996, Mr. Bisbee clerked for the Ninth Judicial District Court in Douglas County, Nevada. In 1997, he was admitted to practice in California. Mr. Bisbee was previously employed with Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley for a decade before commencing with the Firm in May 2009. Mr. Bisbee is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel for Northern California and Nevada. In addition, he is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and San Mateo County Bar Association.
