Sarah D. Katz Downey

Sarah Downey represents and counsels primary and excess insurers in coverage matters involving directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, fiduciary liability, environmental and commercial general liability policies. Sarah has counseled insurers on the interpretation of their policies in connection with various coverage issues including, but not limited to, late notice, prior knowledge, the insured versus insured exclusion, the contract exclusion and the conduct exclusions. Sarah also represents insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation in state and federal courts. She is currently representing insurers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut in coverage and bad faith litigation. Sarah's coverage litigation experience compliments her coverage and monitoring work and has afforded her the opportunity to truly understand the importance of each detail associated with the handling of a coverage/monitoring matter. In addition to coverage litigation, she has defended claims involving employment discrimination and represents and counsels clients in matters involving various aspects of commercial litigation.
